Maribel lived in Virginia along with her parents but there are few details regarding their lives. As a teenager she was determined to pursue a career within the legal field, wanting to become an attorney. However, after matriculating in high school she was accepted at the University of Virginia where she pursued a degree in Foreign Policy and a minor in German. Thomas Jefferson, who was one of the Declaration of Independence's authors, established the University of Virginia in 1819. The university has expanded to offer more than a hundred programs, within the Jefferson's Academical Village which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its central campus covers 1600 acres while the farm and research park encompass hundreds of acres. Maribel earned her law school from New York Law School.
