Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. She started her Broadway career performing in musicals like Wicked, Legally Blonde and Hair. Her role in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in a Play. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked with many acclaimed actors and directors for stage productions and on television. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career by working on new projects. Ashford's next project will be an exclusive Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford has been working on Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust that stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. It's also available in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford's Broadway return is scheduled to take place in March 2023 when he is paired with Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who produced Hamilton directed the show. Ashford's most recent part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the national scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, as well as Linda Tripp. She starred in two seasons on the hit CBS comedy B Positive. She also appeared in the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. She has also appeared in Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original character as Lauren In Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for an Tony Award. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford is now dividing her time between Los Angeles and New York.
